Cee Lo Green Quits 'The Voice'

The coach, producer, singer-songwriter, Cee Lo Green, will soon leave behind the days of spinning chair as a judge on 'The Voice'.

Cee Lo Green released the statement on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where he was interviewed alongside Lionel Richie. Green stated, "I just want to... I don't want to wear out my welcome there. I have so many other things that I want to do. I haven't released an album for four years. I'm almost done with my album."

This does not mean Cee Lo Green will stop his relationship with NBC, the channel which owns 'The Voice'. Green has a television show development deal and some talk show opportunities with NBC later in the year.

This statement is also confirmed by NBC's president of alternative and late-night programming, Paul Telegdy. "Cee Lo Green has been an instrumental part of the success of 'The Voice,' and we deeply appreciate all his contributions. We're looking forward to working with him on other upcoming projects that will tap into both his musical and entertainment expertise."

"'The Voice' has been an immensely enjoyable experience for me and I can only hope I have enriched the lives of our viewers, the contestants, and the many friends I made there," Green said. "I'm going to miss 'The Voice' and will always be there in spirit. Thanks for the memories and make way for many more," he added.

Cee Lo Green declared that "he will not go quietly into the night". Other than his upcoming new album, television show deal and talk show in collaboration with NBC, Green is also going to go on a tour with the legend, Lionel Richie. The upcoming tour was dubbed to be, "All The Hits All Night Long."
