Calling all Soul, R&B and Pop lovers!

JavaSoulnation Festival is a music festival held annually in Jakarta, Indonesia. As the name suggested, the acts that perform each year is from the soul, R&B, and pop genre.

This year, JavaSoulnation Festival will start from October 4th to October 6th 2013 at Istora Senayan Jakarta. Similar to previous JavaSoulnation Festival, this year they will have International acts as well as local acts from Indonesia.

Karmin Goes Acapella

Acapella is the newest single from Karmin, the duo from Berklee College of Music in Boston. From the title, you might expect the music to be acapella literally. But, no, it is not acapella. (Yes, it is full band)

Acapella official music video was released last July and is the first hit single from their newest studio album, Pulses.

You might notice something looks different in the music video. If it is not obvious enough, Amy's hair is now blonde! So please, go ahead and comment below telling us whether you like the hair brown or blonde better ;)

On to the actual song, it is very very catchy. The catchy 4 bars bass riff in the beginning really drives the song. The beat is just great to dance to. The melody lines are catchy and singable, which are always a plus in pop culture. Amy's voice sounds really distinct and the way the verse combine a little bit of rap and a little bit of singing is just "so Karmin".

You might think, why Acapella? If you listen closely to the chorus, acapella in this context is being single. Away from the bad boyfriend and going 'solo' but still awesome, just like acapella music. As it is in the lyrics, "You and me a duo, watch me hit it solo. I'ma do it acapella"

Acapella is on number 72 of Billboard Top 100 and Pulse is released this September.
